The MIT List Visual Arts Center, tucked into the Wiesner Building on the Kendall Square end of campus, gives its Bakalar Gallery over to Senegalese-American artist and comics illustrator Pap Souleye Fall. The installation grows out of Fall’s ongoing DEAD PIXEL story: a green-screen-green figure perched on a tomb-like mound of quilted textile blocks, papier-mâché, and electronic waste scavenged from MIT itself, all lined up with a wall mural so the whole tableau reads like a glitch breaking through real space.

Come for the optical trick, stay for the ideas — Fall treats digital malfunction as a hiding place from surveillance and control, with quilt patterns nodding to Underground Railroad codes. Like everything at the List, admission is free, and it pairs well with a slow lap around Kendall’s public art afterward.
