Stanley Cavell at 100: The Awful Truth at the Coolidge

Event Details

The Coolidge marks the centenary of Brookline philosopher and cinephile Stanley Cavell with Leo McCarey’s 1937 screwball comedy, screening in Moviehouse 5. Cary Grant and Irene Dunne play divorcing New York sophisticates whose escalating sabotage centres on custody of their terrier; Cavell chose the film to close his study of Hollywood remarriage comedies.
