Wunderhorse at Royale (Club Night Concert)
Event Details
Royale’s gold-trimmed ballroom on Tremont Street spends most weekends as a Theater District dance club, but on concert nights it becomes one of Boston’s best-sounding standing rooms — and Wunderhorse are exactly the kind of band it flatters. The British outfit, built around songwriter Jacob Slater, deals in raw, nerve-ends guitar rock that has earned a devoted following on both sides of the Atlantic across the albums Cub and Midas.
Expect a general-admission floor, a crowd that knows every word, and a set that swings from hushed to howling. New York’s Been Stellar open with taut, city-bred indie rock that fits the bill neatly. It suits anyone who misses when rock shows felt a little dangerous; get there early if you want the rail, since the ballroom’s sightlines reward commitment.
