D+D Beer Garden at City Hall Plaza
Event Details
The D+D Beer Garden plants two of Boston’s homegrown breweries — worker-owned Democracy Brewing of Downtown Crossing and family-run Distraction Brewing of Roslindale — right on the brick expanse of City Hall Plaza. From spring into fall, the seasonal setup pours their locally made beers alongside wine and seltzers, with food from Roslindale’s Jimmies Café, all within sight of Faneuil Hall and the Freedom Trail crowds.
This is an easygoing, all-ages hangout rather than a bar scene: parents with strollers share picnic tables with post-work Government Center badge-wearers, and the programming folds in live music and other entertainment through the season. Weekends open at midday while weekdays lean after-work. It suits anyone who wants a downtown pint outdoors without a reservation — and it doubles as a rest stop between the plaza’s events and the North End a few blocks off.
