The ICA’s Watershed — a cavernous former copper-pipe factory inside an active East Boston shipyard — hosts a major exhibition by artist Lucy Raven, anchored by two works making their American debuts. Hardpan is a huge rotating cylinder of aluminum and concrete that sweeps the hall with searchlight beams like a factory machine come back to life; Murderers Bar is a film built around the demolition of a century-old dam on California’s Klamath River — the largest dam-removal project in U.S. history — with a rumbling four-channel score by percussionist Deantoni Parks.

It adds up to a physical, almost cinematic meditation on water, industry, and the American West, well matched to a raw industrial hall on Boston Harbor. Expect low light and some genuinely loud passages — earplugs are available — thrilling for most visitors, maybe not for very small kids. Watershed admission is free.
